Newfit Services Willington: Willington Cottles saw their championship chance fade when they dropped four valuable points to the visiting Willington New Inn.
This result leaves them trailing the leading Byers Green Royal Oak by 15 points but with a match in hand. Willington Lion and Unicorn have played the same number of matches and also have a match in hand but trail Cottles by three points. However the Royal Oak only have one match remaining, whilst the others have two.
Cottles had singles wins from John Scott, Kenny Louth and Jason Bone with Andrew Robinson and John Barron adding a doubles before they also took the team game. However four vital points went to the new Inn when they had singles wins from Pat Swain, Jan Swain and Mary Walton with Lenny Glasper with Jean Swain adding a doubles point.

Crook Golden Fleece virtually ensured themselves of the Championship when they only dropped one point to the visiting Willington Cricket Club. This moved them 25 points clear of Crook Royal Sun, who are favourites to land the runners-up spot as they are 11 points clear of the third placed, Willington Brewer's Droop.
The leading individual scorers were Shirley Slater 140 and Kay Slater 123 for Byers Green Club, Stephanie Pinkney 125 for the Mill House, Margery Miller 124 for Bar 56, Betty Chapman and Joan Mills 121 each for the Golden Fleece.
