DURHAM's stars of the future will be taking to the stage to show off their talent.
The Durham Cygnets drama club will be performing a variety show, Starsearch, at the city's Gala Theatre, on Saturday, May 8, at 7.30pm.
About 30 performers, aged between four and 18, will be singing, dancing and performing sketches.
Ellen Russell, who is organising the show, said: "We can accommodate up to 40 young people on a night and it always seems to be full of life and energy.
"I would think that over the years we have had over 1,000 people through the doors.
"Some, I am pleased to say, have gone on to careers in the performing arts.
Durham Cygnets is a non-profit, self-help group.
Ms Russell said: "We are always looking to help another worthy cause so any money made on the night will go towards the purchase of education equipment for the developing areas in Africa."
Tickets cost £8, concessions £6, from the theatre's box office on 0191-332 4041.
