MEMBERS of a roller-skating club will be raising money for a national cancer charity at a fundraising event next month.
Durham and District Roller Skating Club is taking part in the Macmillan Miles Challenge.
Skaters from the club aged from four to 24 will be raising money at Shildon Leisure Centre on Saturday, May 29, from 10am.
Macmillan is asking people to take part in the event, from May 23 to 30, by completing a mile in whatever way they wish, be it walking, cycling, running, hopping or skipping.
It could even be a novelty event like creating a mile of coins, eating a mile of spaghetti or knitting a mile-long scarf.
Spectators are welcome, and anyone wishing to sponsor the skaters is asked to call Janet Lodge on (01325) 310399.
