A MOTORIST was yesterday disqualified for six months after driving without a licence and hitting another vehicle.
South Durham magistrates, sitting in Darlington, were told that Craig Alexander, 26, of Aintree Court, Darlington, had been driving too fast through Sadberge village. He failed to stop at a Give Way sign and collided with the side of a man's car.
Alexander, also known as Craig Maddison, was charged with driving without due care and attention, and without a licence or insurance. He was convicted of the offences in his absence last June.
Yesterday he was disqualified and fined £100. He was also ordered to pay £60 costs.
