DAREDEVIL fundraisers lined up to throw themselves from a great height in a charity bungee jump last night.
The event took place in Ferryhill and attracted at least 30 intrepid participants.
The idea for the bungee originated with the Ferryhill 2000 group, which wanted to give individuals, voluntary groups and organsations the opportunity to raise money for good causes.
The Sky High Bungee company set up the equipment in the town's Market Place and the event attracted a number of spectators.
Among the most nervous of the jumpers was Jamie Corrigan, executive officer of Ferryhill Town Council.
He was raising money for the Mayor of Ferryhill's two charities, Macmillan Nurses and Rosebank Special School.
