Annandale Hotel v Redcar Mack. Park: Annandale secured their second win in four days with a well earned victory over Redcar Mackinlay Park.
Leighton went close for the Skelton side early in the match but it was Booth who gave Annadale the lead, scoring direct from a free kick with an unstoppable shot. Annandale seemed to be in no danger but Mackinlay Park found themselves back in the game when a hopeful shot from Richtor deceived keeper Farndale, leaving him stranded as the Ball bobbled over the line. The second half saw Annandale pushing forward with Dewing going close on several occasions. However it was Booth who found the target again, when he pounced on a loose ball, giving the home side the lead on 60 minutes. Redcar came forward but with Fairbank and Fountain outstanding at the back they could not find the equaliser.
Gt Ayton v Whitby Fishermen
The early stages of the game were even, both sides looking to win supremacy in midfield. As the half progressed the visitors began to dominate, being qicker to the ball and stronger in the challenge. A good passing move between Sam Wood and Roldan set up the chance for Will Wood to svore but Ayton's Stone blocked the shot. Ayton keeper, Readman, was in action to make two geat saves with his legs as the Whitby forwards created chance after chance, The Whitby pressure paid off in the 25th minute when Sam Wood beat off challeges from Long and Cooper to slot past the advancing keeper. Ayton were finding it difficult to string two passes together and it was no surprise when Whitby notch up a second goal to complete a convincing first half. The second half began as the first, both teams working hard to take a foot hold of the game. Ayton began to take control, Long and Milburn were winning the midfield battle and Ripley and Murray began to get some strikes at goal. Just as it looked as if Ayton were on top a break by the visitors and an error in the Ayton defence let in Draper to increase the lead for Fishermen. In a goal flurry towards the end Ripley pulled a goal back only for Whitby to finish the game well with two more goals to give them deserved win.
Lealholm v Highland Laddie
Two hard games in midweek took their toll on Lealholm and they found themselves a goal down in the minutes as Laddie won the ball on the right midfeld, beat Lealholm for pace and passed across the goal only for the unfortunate Crooks to knock into his own goal.Laddie dominated the next 15 minutes and went further ahead when a Combellack free kick from the edge of the box went over the wall and the keeper Lealholm began to settle and three minutes later pulled a goal back through Whitwell. The first ten minutes of the second half were even then a Laddie free kick was floated in by Burns and this seemed to kill off the game. Lealholm were run ragged for the rest of the match leaving Laddie with a comfortable win.
Lingdale Tavern v Hinderwell
Lingdale began strongly and produced an early goal when Dane and Shane Breckon combined down the left, Danes cross was met by Thompson, who drilled the ball home from a tight angle. Lyth and Brown were working hard in the Hindewell defence but they could do nothing to stop Shane Breckon when he ran onto a flick from Dane and tucked the ball past keeper, Jackson. Ten minutes later Dane Breckon netted Lingdale's 100th goal of the season when he broke clear to round the keeper. In the second half Hinderwell trued their best to keep Lingdale at bay but Kent and Ward were running the midfield for the Tavern. A Shane Breckon shot hit the post and Thompson's follow up shot hit a defender before Hood tapped in the rebound. Shane Breckon then went on the rampage and completed Lingdale's 7-0 victory with a fine second half hat trick.
Stakesby Arme v Boosbeck Utd
Boosbeck survived a second half scare to eventually win a tightly contested game against bottom of the table, Stakesby. The away team took the lead as some slack defending allowed a shot to be rifled past the helpless Owen. Both teams had some good chances but this remained the only goal of the first half. The second half began at a frantic pace and Stakesby pulled deservedly level when after a Steel shot rattled the bar, Smith followed up with a smash into the bottom corner. Some slack defending again allowed Boosbeck back into the game with an easy tap-in from close range. Arms levelled again five minutes later, Smith netting his second to give his team belief that they could pull a win out of this tight encounter but again Stakesby were their own worst enemy when they concede a penalty, Boosbeck converting from the spot. The same pattern resumed with Stakesby equalising again with 20 minutes remaining. Straight from kick off Boosbeck regained the lead with a long range shot which flew past Owen into the bottom corner. That was the end of any resistance by Stakesby as Boosbeck added two more to finish a game that was much more closely contested than the scoreline suggests.
