A COMMUNITY centre will reopen tomorrow after a £480,000 revamp.
Tow Law Community Centre has undergone a refurbishment to create a computer suite, creche facilities, an office and a meeting room.
The centre will also provide space for a health visitor, four district nurses, the community police officer, community activities and after-school clubs for youngsters.
Villagers are being invited to the centre, in Dan's Castle, from 11am until about 3pm, to view the improved facilities and enjoy activities including children's entertainment and bowls.
Jenny Flynn, secretary of Tow Law Community Association, said: "It is great. We are all so glad to be back in the centre and looking forward to the open day.
"We have got a big opportunity now to extend the range of services for the community. I am hopeful it will be a big plus to the people living here.
"The building is very modern and vibrant. There is a lovely feeling there now.
"The open day will be a chance to look at work that has been achieved and to discover how to enrol on some of the courses that will be on offer there."
The centre will hold DIY training from Monday and healthy eating course from Thursday. There are plans for a holiday Spanish course.
The scheme has been backed by the European Regional Development Fund, the Lottery, regional development agency One NorthEast, Durham Dales Primary Care Trust, The Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, the Government's Rural Enterprise Scheme and The Tudor Trust.
