TWO teenage sisters appeared in court yesterday charged with separate offences.
The eldest girl admitted to being drunk and disorderly when police went to speak to her and her friends at Dinsdale railway station, near Darlington, on April 2.
Darlington Youth Court heard that the 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had glazed eyes, was slurring her words and was being loud and obstructive.
"PC Kevin Wilson took hold of her left arm and she pulled it away and was swinging it around. She then aimed a kick at the police officer," said Barry Smith, prosecuting.
The teenager admitted a charge of resisting arrest.
Rory Todd, for the girl, said she was already subject to a six-month referral order imposed in February, which aimed to address her problematic use of alcohol.
Magistrates extended the order for a further six months, until February next year.
Her 14-year-old sister, who also cannot be named, denied a charge of assaulting a female causing her actual bodily harm on New Year's Eve.
A trial was set for June 14 at Newton Aycliffe.
