HORTICULTURALISTS at a York college are preparing for the Harrogate Spring Flower Show, which will be held this week.
Askham Bryan College is entering a garden called Woodland Peace, designed as a celebration of nature and wildflowers.
The college, which also runs courses in Bedale, Guisborough, Pickering and Harrogate, won a silver medal at last year's Hampton Court Flower Show.
The entry for the Harrogate show will feature plants including hyacinths, narcissus, iris and primulas grouped around a pond that emphasises the tranquil theme.
Mary Hirst, who designed the garden, said: "My inspiration for the design came directly from nature. Many of the plants were once common in our woodlands, but it is now rare to find them all together in the wild.
"I hope the garden will remind everyone of the beauty of these precious flowers."
The flower show is at the Great Yorkshire Showground, from Thursday to Sunday.
