A SAFE clubbing event for youngsters, featuring local DJs and bands will be held in Northallerton, on Friday.
The Say No And Phone night is being organised by the Hambleton Community Safety Partnership and Crimestoppers. It will take place at the Hambleton Forum.
The dance night, aimed at 11 to 17-year-olds, is the second to be held. It is billed as a night of entertainment that works without drugs, alcohol or tobacco.
Registered and licensed door staff, police, partnership officers and youth workers will marshal the event, which will adhere to normal clubbing policies.
Partnership officer Patricia Thornton, said: "Every possible care and consideration is taken by the officers organising these events to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the young people attending."
The event will be hosted by DJ K Delight with bands Velocity and The Majestics performing.
Tickets for the event, which lasts from 7.30pm to 11pm, cost £5. They are available from all Hambleton leisure centres and the Galtres Centre, in Easingwold. Tickets will also be available at the door.
The Community Education Service is providing transport for youngsters in Easingwold.
Teenagers from areas outside Northallerton are asked to contact their community education workers to see if transport can be provided to the event.
