A SAFE clubbing event for teenagers that will feature local DJs and bands is taking place on Friday.
The SNAP night (Say No And Phone) is being organised by the Hambleton Community Safety Partnership and Crimestoppers and will take place at the Hambleton Forum, in Northallerton.
The dance night is the second of its type to be organised and is billed as a night of entertainment that works without drugs, alcohol or tobacco for 11 to 17-year-olds.
Registered and licensed door staff, police and partnership officers and youth workers will marshal the event.
Partnership officer Patricia Thornton said: "Every possible care and consideration is taken by the officers organising these events to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the young people attending.
"The first night was a huge success - we are now looking to build on that success." The night, which lasts from 7.30pm until 11pm, will be hosted by DJ K Delight and local bands Velocity and The Majestics will be playing.
Tickets cost £5 and are on sale at all Hambleton-based leisure centres. They will also be available at the door on the night. Teenagers from outside Northallerton, should contact community education workers to see if transport can be arranged.
