A TEAM of tenpin bowlers from the Royal Air Force have booked a place in the sport's European Championships.
The four team members were crowned champions at this year's British Corporate Bowling championships at Nottingham's AMF Bowl. Team captain Pete Crompton of RAF Leeming was way out in front, maintaining a tournament average of 225.5 and recording a high game of 289, only 11 pins short of the perfect score.
The team secured a pinfall total of 5,232 over the six-game tournament, guaranteeing them the title and a place in the European Championships, which will be held at the end of May in Lille, France.
