YOUNG footballers are about to embark on a sponsored walk to raise money for two charities.
Players from Northallerton under-tens team will walk 13 miles from Osmotherley to Sutton Bank on Saturday, May 1.
The proceeds will go to Joshua Peacock, a severely disabled three-year-old boy from Northallerton. He suffers from a form of cerebral palsy and the money will be used to buy specialised equipment he will need as he gets older.
The footballers are also hoping to buy one or two DVD players for the children's ward at the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton.
The squad has just received new training jackets thanks to sponsorship from Wakes Service Centre. Anyone who would like to sponsor the boys for their walk can contact team manager Mick Beswick on (01609) 778334.
