A NURSERY in the former village school at Burneston, near Bedale, has received a national award.
Jack and Jill's day nursery won the Quality Counts kitemark from the National Day Nurseries Association.
The scheme aims to promote quality day care and education by developing, encouraging and maintaining high standards.
Jack and Jill's has passed assessment of 16 modules by an independent panel to receive the kitemark, which acts as a reliable indicator of high quality childcare.
Manager Laura Hoyland said: "We are delighted to have received this accreditation. We have always aimed for the highest quality of care and believe that the Quality Counts kitemark will signify our commitment to this cause.''
