YOUNGSTERS got the chance to handle some weird and wonderful beasts as part of Easter break activities.
Children aged five to 14 had the chance to learn all about the creepy crawlies belonging to interactive animal workshop Zoolab. About 28 children from the Red Hall estate in Darlington, took part in the event at the community centre, organised by play worker Sarah Small.
"It was really great, the kids loved it," she said. "They got to hold snails, cockroaches, a snake, stick insects and a millipede, and they saw a tarantula. For those who didn't want to hold them, they could touch them.
"The children learned a lot and were interested in it all."
