YOUNG musicians in Chester-le-Street are to have 15 minutes of fame when they perform a piece in the hope of winning a local music competition.
The Rotary Club of Chester-le-Street has been working with the James Etherington Trust for Young Musicians, looking for a student to sponsor to further their musical education.
The final six musicians will perform for the title and the £300 prize money for the winner and £100 for the runner-up.
They are Ruth Betteridge, Miriam Davis, Joel Finnan, Andrew Fox, Amanda Small and Ashley Stirling.
The event will be held at the Methodist Church in the Market Place in Chester-le-Street, on Tuesday, at 7pm.
Members of the public are welcome to attend.
