A SUPPORT group to promote the benefits of breast-feeding is to be set up in the Sedgefield borough.
The fortnightly group, which will meet in Trimdon Grange Clinic, is aimed at new mothers in the Trimdon villages, Fishburn, Sedgefield, West Cornforth and the surrounding areas.
The first meeting will be held on Monday, May 10, from 2pm to 3pm, to mark National Breast-feeding Awareness Week.
The group will be run by health visitors from Sedgefield Primary Care Trust, with the help of a counsellor from the National Childbirth Trust and local midwives.
Although there are a large number of women across Sedgefield borough who do breast-feed, the figure in the Trimdon area is lower.
For details, contact the Sedgefield trust health visitors on (01740) 626644.
