STARS from the football world will mix with fans, friends and family at the funeral of Middlesbrough legend George Hardwick tomorrow.
The 84-year-old, known as Gentleman George, was one of only two Boro players to have captained England. The other, current captain Gareth Southgate, will be among mourners at St Mary's Cathedral, Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, at 1pm.
With him will be Boro manager Steve McLaren, chief executive Keith Lamb and commercial manager Graham Fordy, a family friend. Redcar and Cleveland Mayor Norah Cooney will also attend.
Leading the cortege will be police horse Hardwick, which was named in his honour.
Saltburn-born Mr Hardwick played 166 games for his team and won 13 international caps for England. He captained Great Britain against the Rest-of-Europe team in the Victory in Europe celebration match.
