On Sunday Peppers Draughting Services had an emphatic victory over Copper Beech DCS to keep pressure on the top spot.
Goals from Paul Lowe, Mark Finn, John Jeffrey, Lee Hammond, two for David Raine and hat-trick apiece for Michael Carter and the excellent Carl Pepper saw them hit 12 with Tim Usher grabbing a consolation for Copper.
The game between Middleton St. George and Berlins was MSG's final game and the made an excellent start when Jon Wilkinson grabbed his first in the sixth minute. Defender Phil Liversedge made it two soon after.
Wilkinson notched his second midway through the first half and Phil Gordon made it four just before the break. The second 45 minutes continued as the first, Wilkinson was brought down in the penalty box, defender Mark Flood stepped up to take the spot kick and fired home to make it five.
The visitors got on the scoresheet through Carter with some help from a mistake by the home side's keeper but it was the home side's day and a great strike from Phil Ratchford driven low into the bottom corner made it six. Liversedge got his second goal of the game from long distance when he crossed into the box from fully 35 yards, the keeper got his hands to the ball but could only help into the net off the crossbar to make the final score 7-1.
Peacocks Pub Co visited the Royal British Legion and came away with all three points thanks to goals from Max Ripley and a double from Scott Raper. Legion contested the game throughout and even with a man of the match performance from John Jenkinson they could not prevent a 3-0 victory for the visitors. The game between Hole In The Wall and The Northern Echo was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Northern Echo picked the wrong game to turn up without a recognised goalkeeper when they faced Peppers Draughting Services. Although stand-in keeper Craig Maddison peformed well, he was powerless to stop four goals in the first 45 minutes and a further five in the second period, as the home side cruised to a 9-2 victory. The Echo's goals both came from leading scorer Darren Henderson.
* As in division one the second division title is down to two teams Pepper Draughting Services and Cleveland Bridge, who met on May 9, for the deciding game of the season, Middleton St. George have completed their fixtures and are guaranteed third spot, sadly although promoted they have resigned from the league as from next season. FRA Mowden need one point to clinch the third promotion spot. Only one team will now be relegated from division two.
