Longhorn Hardware Darlington and District League: DGSOB 2 Killinghall Arms 5; In their final game of the season Old Boys gave a good account of themselves and reached the interval with the score at 1-1.
The scores were level at 2-2 when with 15 minutes remaining Killie were the recipients of a penalty award which they converted. Man of the match Tim Burton then forsook his defensive duties to move up front in search of an equaliser but Killie exploited the gaps at the back to take a decisive 5-2 lead.
Old Boys acorers were Sam Nattress and Peter Gray and Killie's marksmen were Danny Hannifin (2), Paul Walker, Sean Rochford and James Raper.
Greyhound 3 Newton Aycliffe 1
Greyhound took advantage of Aycliffe's weakened forward line to score an important victory in the first of four meetings between the clubs in the next four weeks. Aycliffe took the lead from the penalty spot when Craig Barrigan converted. Peter Robson levelled with a superb overhead kick and five minutes later John Makepeace won a 50/50 challenge with the keeper to slot home. Kevin Thompson added a third to leave his side needing one point from their two remaining games to clinch the title.
Heighington 2 Shuttle & Loom 1
A goal in each half from M of the M Nigel Gamblin was sufficient to give his side the points. Chris Airey replied and Mark Jenkinson was Shuttle's best man.
Grey Horse 7 Barnard Castle 2
Barney's pressure paid off when Fell put his side one up. Michael Duffy equalised and Darren Tate put Horse into the lead. Callum Tallentire and Chris Venis created an opening for Fell which he despatched into the net only for Horse to regain the lead with Tate's second. Barney tired in the second half and Grey Horse sprinted clear with Tate increasing his tally to four and Andrew Wetherell netting twice. Tate was Horse's best player and birthday boy Tallentire was Barney's star man.
Greyhound 2 Heighington 0
Greyhound's Peter Robson headed home a Darren Hewitson cross and the the second and championship winning goal came on the half hour mark when Jonathan Agar latched onto a cross-field pass from Kurt Burleigh to slot home.
Killinghall Arms 2 Hole in the Wall 1
a defensive mix up allowed Killie to poach the lead and Wall were again punished by the speedier reactions of the Killie players following a throw-in the ball finishing in the back of the net for number two. The action continued at both ends for the remainder of the game with both sides going close but the only scorer was Todd who eventually scored from close range following a good run and shot from Kevin Cox. Killie's scorers were Neil Matthias and Sean Rochford.

Newton Acyliffe 0 East End WMC 0
(aet, Aycliffe won 3-2 on penalties)
defences dominated throughout the 180 minutes and it wasn't until the penalty shoot-out that either keeper was beaten and even then Aycliffe missed their first two penalties to give East End the early advantage. However the clubmen then proceeded to miss their final three penalties to gift the tie to Aycliffe. Aycliffe will now meet Greyhound in the final at Darlington RA on Wednesday, April 28 (6.30pm).
