The League Cup Final will be contested by Darlington Mowden and Darlington Archdeacon on Tuesday, May 11.

Darlington Mowden struck first against Shildon Elm Road WMC, Steve Thompson taking advantage of hesitancy in the Elm defence to slot the ball home. From then on it was nip and tuck until the 68th minute when Daniel Chadwick hit the equaliser. Ten minutes later Mowden broke from defence for Ritchie Dodsworth to hit a great winner from 25 yards with a dipping shot which deceived the keeper.

In the other semi between Darlington Archdeacon and Chilton Community College it was an early goal by Adam Flynn for 'Deacon that set them on the road to the final. As the game drew to half-time a brilliant solo run by James Howlett doubled their score, the second half was end to end with 'Deacon closing the door, for Chilton keeper Darren Wise making telling saves to leave the final score 2-0.

In the league Darlington Dalesman visited Hurworth Emerson Arms and came away with an unexpected victory 4-2. John Leet gave Dalesman a 2-0 interval lead, his second a little bizarre with the shot rebounding off the keeper and hitting him to enter the net, in the second Emerson hit back through David Walker and Steve Clapham, pushing forward Emerson were caught twice on the break through James Campion, the second a good strike from 18 yards.

Darlington Stadia gave a good account of themselves before going down to Tindale WMC by the odd goal in five.

Darlington Skerne Park put up their usual fight on their visit to Stillington but the home side were too strong for them and ran out 5-0 winners.

In midweek Tindale WMC were beaten 2-1 in the Auckland Charity Cup Final.
