A MAN was being treated in hospital last night after his arm was crushed by farm machinery.
The 24-year-old, from South Bank, near Middlesbrough, was working at Come Bank Farm, Birk Brow Road, near Boosbeck, east Cleveland, when the incident happened at about 10.45am yesterday.
His lower left arm had become trapped in the machinery and had to be attended to by paramedics as a fire crew from nearby Carlin How station, battled to release him.
He was eventually taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, by air ambulance, a flight time of three minutes.
Air crew paramedic Jon Ker said: "The man had suffered crush injuries to his lower left arm but his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
"When we left him at James Cook University Hospital he was receiving treatment and plastic surgeons were going to assess what treatment they were going to give him."
Police said later that the man works for a company that operates from a building on the farm's land.
