Last weekend Billingham swimmers competed at the Spa Town Distance Meet. Three silver and five bronze medals were achieved.
Thirteen-year-old Christopher Wilkinson produced excellent swims to achieve silver in his 1500m free and bronze in the 200m fly and 400m free. He just missed out in fourth place in the 400m IM and finished fifth in both the 200m free and IM.
Eleven-year-old Glen Martin produced a terrific swim in his first ever 1500m free to establish silver. In the 200m free he collected bronze with a fourth place in the 200m IM and seventh in the 200m breast.
Another medal winner was 17-year-old Ian Kelly producing a magnificent swim to collect bronze place in the 200m breast.
Sixteen-year-old Jane Usher produced first class swims to gain a silver in the 200m back, bronze in the 800m free, fourth in the 200m IM and 5th in the 400m free.
Ten-year-old Stephanie Blakeburn finished ninth in the 200m and swam 200m breast and IM. Eleven-year-old Gareth Allen swam 200m free.
Two 14-year-olds taking part were Joanne Longster finished seventh in the 800m free, tenth in the 400m free, 200m back and free and 12th in the 200m IM. Lisa Sheehan swam in her first 400m free and competed in the 200m free.
Sixteen-year-old Emma Wilson finished seventh in the 200m I.M. and also swam in the 200m and 400m free.
