A MAN may have to undergo facial surgery after having a broken bottle pushed in his face at a club in the early hours of yesterday.
The 25-year-old was drinking in The Lounge, Darlington, when the incident happened.
Inspector Brian Maudling, of Darlington police, said the man was treated at Darlington Memorial Hospital for his injuries but was expected to be transferred to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, last night, for possible surgery.
Police were called to the club at 12.30am on Sunday, but made no arrests.
"We have security camera footage to examine and potential witnesses to speak to," said Insp Maudling, who asked for witnesses to call Darlington police on (01325) 467681.
