Stockton Police Drugs Unit found heroin worth £125,000 at an address in Stockton.
The discovery was made in a follow-up search after police had earlier recovered heroin worth £6,000 at an address in Thornaby, near Stockton.
The amount of heroin found means that Stockton Drugs Unit has now recovered more than £2m worth of heroin since it was set up four years ago.
Detectives also recovered £1,400 cash and arrested three people. Two, a 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin with intent to supply. A 23-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of amphetamine.
The three were being held in custody last night and were being interviewed by detectives.
Sergeant Tony Rock of the drugs unit said: "This is another excellent recovery as a result of an intelligence-led operation. A good deal of heroin has been seized which will now not find its way on to the streets. It also marks the recovery of £2m-wroth of controlled drugs since Stockton Drugs Unit set up four years ago."
