tourism students caught the eye as they walked into a city centre and back to their college campus in aid of charity.
Students on New College Durham's BTec travel and tourism course dressed in various outfits for a good cause. There were French maids, cheeky devils, St Trinian's girls, gangsters, a ship's captain and one student in pyjamas.
The walk was staged not only as a fundraiser for the children's charity NSPCC, but also as a test of the students' initiative as part of their national diploma studies.
Nineteen students took part in the four-mile round trip joined by tutor Linda Ransom, who appeared as Native American squaw Pocahontas.
"It's great that they have been able to raise so much for charity, but it's also helping their wider key skills element of their course.
"It's assessing problem solving, working with others and improving their own learning and performing.
"An ideal way to achieve all of these things is a group activity to find out what problems there are to overcome in organising something like this."
The walkers collected £140 from fellow students on their return to college, in Framwellgate Moor.
It will be added to about £200 raised in sponsorship, which will go to the NSPCC.
