THE biggest event in the construction trade calendar is to take place in County Durham this week.
Neighbouring colleges will join New College Durham students to take part in the Skillbuild competition on Friday.
It is open to anyone studying construction crafts such as bricklaying, carpentry, joinery, painting and decorating, plastering and wall and floor tiling, at S/NVQ Level two or three.
Students will get a task to complete and visitors will be able to watch them in action.
Regional finalists progress to the national final and could represent the UK in the World Skill Olympics next year. They were held in Finland last year.
For more information about Skillbuild or engineering and construction opportunities at New College Durham contact Mark Anderson, head of School of Technology, on 0191-375 4440.
