CREATIVE work of a group of artistic students during the past academic year goes on public display at the weekend.

Distinctive glass and ceramics creations of 16 students will be on show in Durham during the next five weeks.

Dry Run is the seventh annual exhibition of work compiled by students on the BA (Hons) Architectural Glass, Glass and Ceramics course, at Sunderland University.

It has been staged in previous years at Sunderland Museum, at the Mezzanine Gallery of the National Glass Centre, also in Sunderland, and at the city's Art Studio.

But this year the work is to be displayed in County Durham City.

Several of the students have been busy mounting their creations in the upstairs gallery of the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery, at Aykley Heads.

Examples of the students' work on show include blown and kiln produced glass pieces, architectural glass and various ceramics.

Dry Run opens on Saturday and runs until Sunday, June 6.

The DLI Museum is open daily and further information about the exhibition and other displays is available on 0191-384 2214.
