A survey carried out on behalf of a trade union has shown that more than half of people in the region are opposed to their banks moving work to India.
The MORI poll, commissioned by the Lloyds TSB Group Union, showed that 57 per cent of people in the region were more likely to move to another bank if their own moved work overseas.
About 50 per cent of Lloyds TSB customers said they would be more likely to switch banks.
