Premier Division, Sports Bar 1 Rovers Quoit 1: Champions Rovers could only take a point from this clash with Sports Bar and leaves the destination of the Premiership crown still up for grabs.
The first half was a tense affair, with chances missed by both sides, but Sports Bar suffered a big blow when inspirational keeper Peter Gale was forced off with a broken thumb 10 minutes before the break.
After the interval, Mark Dixon showed an electric burst of pace and was scythed down in the box to give the home side a penalty.
Mick Ross sent Gary Easson the wrong way and a major shock looked on the cards as Sports Bar went for the killer second goal.
It didn't come however, and home hearts were broken in injury time as that wily predator, Andy McKenna, swooped from a corner to plant a header into the back of the net.
Best for Rovers was Easson and despite this setback, Rovers remain favourites to regain their title.
Lion Hillcarter 7 Welfare Cosmopolitan 0
Lion kept the heat on Rovers with this seven goal thumping of Welfare.
The result leaves the championship race a little more open and is still up for grabs, but Lion have three difficult fixtures to go.
Robbie Ferguson opened his legs and showed his class to open the scoring for Lion after just ten minutes and form then on in, it was all one-way traffic. Stuart Dixon grabbed a brace, Michael Gough showed he is classy at cricket and football with a fine effort and Craig Lines gave the Lion a 5-0 half time lead.
Two more strikes from the irrepressible Robbie Wright completed the rout to set up an interesting finish to the season.
Alan Martin was colossal and was rightly awarded the man-of-the-match tankard.
Supporters Athletic 5 Blackhall Breathless 2
Supporters ended what was ultimately a disappointing season with a comfortable win against a Blackhall side who have fallen away badly in recent games.
Stuart Cooper and David Smith gave the home side a 2-1 lead at half time, before Cooper got his second immediately after the interval.
Mick Gallagher then increased the advantage, before Hall pulled a game back to give them a glimmer of hope. That hope was extinguished by veteran Ian McIntyre, who was playing his first game for a year to turn in a barnstorming performance which was capped by a fine goal to finish the scoring.
Belle Vue 3 Burn Valley 3
An entertaining game for the hardy souls who turned up to watch this thrill a minute encounter and were treated to six goals.
Burn Valley got out of the blocks slowly and soon found themselves two goals down against a vibrant home team.
The visitors hit back and started to dominate the game and were rewarded with a fine Neil West strike to put them back in the game.
After the interval, Glen Watson equalised but the visitors were caught out when Belle Vue went ahead again to make the score 3-2.
Burn Valley's pressing bore fruit two minutes from the end when Watson got his second and his side's third to level the scores.
Whistler Stan Henderson refereed the game like Pierre Luigi Collina.
Division One
Throston Wanderers 1 Ye Olde Durhams 6
With the First Division crown at stake Durhams showed their championship pedigree with a thumping 6-1 win over one-time contenders Throston to take the title. Early strikes from Ronnie Sudron and Neil Greig set the visitors on their way.
A lapse in concentration allowed the home side to pull a goal back, but that merely propelled Durhams into even greater effort.
Former Hartlepool United trainee Jason Lester jockeyed himself into a great position and rolled in the third just before the sliced oranges and sparkling mineral water were brought onto the field.
After the break, Durhams went into overdrive and Kevin Dixon chalked the fourth, followed by two more from rocket Ronnie Sudron's boot, which gave him a hat-trick and his side a great championship win.
Woodcutter 3 Rugby 1
Woodcutter showed a real cutting edge as they cut Rugby down to size with a comfortable win.
After a drab first half, Rugby took the lead when veteran defender and player-boss Stewart Hind nodded home form a corner. The equaliser soon came courtesy of Wayne Walton after a mix up between Hind and goalkeeper Micky Gardner, before the home side went ahead thanks to Stephen Hopkins.
Rugby, who were reduced to ten men after Neil Twigger was dismissed for directing a barrage of foul and abusive language towards his coach Mayor Stuart Drummond, had no answer to the wave of attacks. Woodcutter were producing and it was no surprise when Martin Stamper rounded off the scoring to secure their second win of the season.
Best for the hosts were Michael Farrow and Stuart Dawson, while Rugby will be glad to see the season draw to a close after five miserable defeats in a row.
* In the other game Nursery beat Hartlepool Cricket Club 6-0.
Division Two
Charter Bar 2 St Francis 2
St Francis took another point as they head to the Promised Land of the First Division. The visitors opened the scoring in the first half thanks to Luke Bates' blistering shot after tremendous set up play from Andrew Neville. Charter Bar equalised from the penalty spot, before Phil Bassett restored the lead after the interval with a nest finish. The home side got a deserved leveller just before the end in a game which saw Adam Butler given the man-of-the-match gong.
Athletic Millhouse 0 Clarendon 3
Clarendon moved up a place in the table with an excellent win over Athletic - and increased their winning run to five games with the Second Division Cup final looming.
After a scrappy opening, Clarendon took the lead through the predatory Andy Normanton, who seized on a poor back pass to coolly slot the ball past Simon Watson.
After the break, Paul Jewson found Chris Barlow from a free kick to head home his ninth of a successful campaign. Lee Connor rounded off the scoring with a clinical finish.
Engineers 1 Workingmen's Club 6
In a traditional end of season affair both teams went for it and the game ended up with a thumping win for Workies. Lee Aird opened the scoring from the spot and Graham Waugh soon doubled that advantage with a neat finish.
Further goals from Ian McCallum, Michael Flounders (2) and Ray Ryder cemented Workies' win. Evergreen Alan Kenny got the consolation goal for Engineers.
