Chris Peacock got off the bottom of the table when he made his second win from four outings with an odd point success over Gerald Parkin. Good chances fell to Parkin in the first two frames but he was not firing at full power and Peacock was quick to take advantage of the two slips. However Parkin pulled round to take the third.
David Stephenson opened with two good clearances to spike Lee Scott. However Scott prevented the whitewash when Stephenson went in-off his final ball leaving Scott one ball and the black to clear with his two shots.
Doug Bowey also prevented himself from being whitewashed when he took the final frame against Neil Campbell. Campbell had taken the first two in sound tactical style but then slipped up in the final frame when he tried to cover the black with his final ball but in wobbled away from the jaws and Bowey gratefully accepted the gift.
David Haygarth also went two up in his game against Stephen Heyes, but Heyes pulled out a spectacular black to take the third. Lee Cullinan recorded his second maximum victory when he took all three frames against Stuart Hall.
Darren Tinkler leads the table by one point from David Craggs and David Haygarth, who are one ahead of David Stephenson.
