They won 2-1 in the Archbold Throphy semi-final, in a tight hard fought game which could of gone either way. Royal struck first when a clearance by the keeper hit a defender and Paul Cleary was quickest to react and slot the ball home.
Steve Thompson equalised before the break after good work from Ritchie Dodsworth, second half, Royal had slightly the better of play although most was midfield, it was in the 87th minute when the winner came, Mowden broke and as a defender slipped Thompson crossed for Adam Wilson to head in.

Once again all the officials are to be congratulated for a fine job
