ALNWICK Garden will have a new car park open for visitors this weekend.
Peter Wirtz, the garden's landscape designer, has structured the parking area to complement the rest of the grounds. An extra 270 places will be available from today.
Rachel Johnston, of Alnwick Garden, in Northumberland, said: "Since the garden has opened, we have received astonishing visitor numbers well above expectations.
"In response, we are constructing a fantastic car park area to meet visitor demand."
Parking will cost £1.40 for garden and castle visitors, £3 for non-visitors and free for coaches and disabled people.
