TOURISM businesses are being urged to enter an awards scheme.
David Andrews, chief executive of the Yorkshire Tourist Board, said the White Rose Awards were dubbed the "tourism Oscars" and played a major part in enhancing the quality of the holiday industry.
Operators have until May 21 to put forward their enterprises for the competition.
The awards, now in their 15th year, are backed by leading organisations, including Business Link, GNER, Regional Food Group, The Yorkshire Society, Saville Audio Visual, Senior King communications, the British Beer and Pub Association and the English Beef and Lamb Executive.
There are 14 categories, covering visitor attractions, hotels, guest houses, tourist information centres, caravan parks, conference venues, pubs, food and customer service.
The winners from several of the categories go on to the England for Excellence Awards.
The White Rose Awards will be presented at the National Railway Museum, York, on Thursday, October 7.
