CYCLISTS from the region will be descending on a North Yorkshire village next week-end.
More than 300 Cycling Tourists' Club (CTC) members are expected to converge on Coxwold, near Easingwold, for its 78th annual service of remembrance.
The service at St Michael's Church begins at 1.30pm and the 14th Century building will be filled with multi-coloured jerseys.
Cyclists will act as bell ringers, sidesmen, offertory collectors, lesson readers, choristers and organist. Local residents and visitors to the area, are also welcome.
The vicar of Coxwold, the Reverend Ian Kitchen, will officiate, and the guest preacher will be the Reverend Caroline Hewlett, curate at St George's Church, in Leeds.
Organised rides to the service will be arranged by CTC members from York, Malton, Middlesbrough, Leeds and Hull. Many others will travel independently.
Refreshments will be on sale in Coxwold village hall from noon, and after the service.
