CHILDREN as young as three have been riding their bikes around South Park, in Darlington, to raise money for charity.
The youngsters took part in the Leukaemia Research Fund's Big Bikeathon, on Sunday.
Linda Young, from the charity, said a host of people took part in the event, with many others supporting them and enjoying attractions including a steel band and Punch and Judy show.
"I think about 70 people in total took part in the bike ride, with children aged three to 14 taking part, and even littler ones riding with their parents," she said.
"One circuit of the course was 1.3km, but many of the older ones did up to 30 circuits of the course. It was a great day, a lovely atmosphere and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves."
Ms Young said it would not be known how much had been raised until everyone had collected sponsorship.
"We are grateful for every penny we raise, it all makes a big difference," she said.
