LONE parents seeking support and advice are being asked to set up a group in the Durham area.
The national lone parent charity Gingerbread is seeking to broaden its network of local groups in the North-East.
Gingerbread has groups which meet in Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor.
There are plans to open groups in Murton and Trimdon Grange, but there is no provision in the Durham and Chester-le-Street districts.
The group could organise social get-togethers and even holidays, as breaks can prove costly for lone parents.
