SOUND business advice has ironed out the creases in a £100,000 business venture.
Lincoln and Harding Ltd has been set up at Catterick Garrison, providing commercial laundry services to the area.
The brother and sister team of Carol Lincoln and David Harding was helped by Business Solutions - Bedale Ltd to start the enterprise.
Ms Lincoln, previously a laundry manager in a nursing home, and Mr Harding, who has a military background, were business novices.
Seven months later, their 4,600sq ft laundry is cleaning between 30,000 and 40,000 items a month and is expected to generate sales of £200,000 in the first year of trading.
Lincoln and Harding Ltd has contracts with hospitals, nursing homes and hotels all over Yorkshire.
It is targeting government departments with future plans including opening up to the domestic market and expansion in the North-East.
On Saturday and Sunday, Yorkshire Forward and Business Link are holding an event in York for anyone interested in starting a business, or who has recently set one up.
