A YOUNG dancer has proved her success in winning a regional tap title last year was no flash in the pan.
Stephanie Lund, 12, of Shadforth, near Durham, took the International Dance Teachers' Association North-East of England Junior Championship last year, at the age of 11, and she scooped it again this year. The competition is open to dancers, aged ten to 14, from Yorkshire and the North-East.
This year's championship was held at the Horsforth Festival of Dance, Speech and Drama, near Leeds, last weekend.
Stephanie also performed in solo, trio and troupe events, with fellow members of the Marron School of Dance.
Next in the sights of the Belmont School girl, is a contest in Lytham, Lancashire, at the end of the month, and July's Junior Tap challenge, in Manchester, which she also aims to retain, following success last year. Stephanie has been dancing for six years.
