A COUNTY Durham schoolgirl is to represent the region in a tennis tournament.
Laura Greaves has been playing tennis since she started at Durham High School in 2000 under the guidance of coach Geoff Henderson.
She won her first tournament at the age of eight and a year later became the youngest player in the Geoff Henderson Tennis Academy team, competing in the Northumberland and Durham Tennis League under-12s. She plays four or five times a week and enjoys watching the sport on TV.
Laura, 11, has been chosen to represent Durham and Cleveland in the Lawn Tennis Association's 11 and Under Inter-County Cup at the County Ground, Northumberland, this weekend.
