Champions Boroughbridge got their season off to a winning start.
Their 5.5-3.5 win over former title holders Harlow was just the tonic they needed to start the new campaign.
Boroughbridge took the First Division title for the first time last season using a comparatively small squad. But their team has been strengthened by some newcomers this term.
There was a notable success for Harrogate-based Spa who went jointly top of the table following their 6.5-2.5 away win at Harrogate Academy.
For Spa Chris Dight and Nicola Pratt captured two rubbers with one halved; Dave Sammel and his daughter Joy took one and a half rubbers while the third pairing of Mike Needham and Amy Van Burren secured two wins while halving a third clash.
The Academy replied with a victory and one rubber halved by David Brown and Beth Billing. Ross Lenenthal and Julie Abbott achieved one victory.
Harrogate Racquets who, as expected, defeated The Academy A 6.5-2.5, share the leadership with Spa.
There was a bright start for newly-promoted teams Ripon and Thirsk A in Division Two.
Ripon were skippered to a 5-4 away success over Knaresborough by Steve Grandison. While Thirsk captain Howard Wilson's charges defeated Raskelf 5-4.
Spaniard Enrick Bertran also had cause for a captain's celebration in Division Three. There, newly-promoted Boroughbridge A beat Ripon A 7-2.
