Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre: Hartlepool St Francis Eagles were the opponents for an important cup semi final in the Cleveland Youth League. The game was always going to be close with both teams performing well all season.
The first half was all Aycliffe as they produced exciting attacking football but a combination of fine goalkeeping and goal-line clearances by Hartlepool kept the score goalless.
The second half continued as the first half ended, however with five minutes to go Aycliffe were awarded a free kick ten yards outside the box. Up stepped Ryan Coles to beat the wall and the keeper, unfortunately the referee had already blew his whistle for encroachment, the kick had to be retaken. The second attempt the wall blocked the shot but once again encroached. The third attempt beat the wall and sailed over the goalkeeper's head giving the lads a precious goal. The final minutes were played with Aycliffe still attacking and the game was won 1-0. Man of the match was Tom Noble.
The final will be against Mount Pleasant Rangers at the Cumby Arms on Sunday, May 9 (12.15pm).

Teesside Athletic
Teesside Athletic Under-10 C, sponsored by CD Bramall, finished their season third in division three. Well done to Coach Paul Moses and the lads for an outstanding season in which attacking football was the norm, thrilling parents and spectators alike.
South Park Rangers were the visitors to Green lane on a Sunday morning, blessed with sunshine. Both teams started well playing some testing through balls, which kept both keepers on their toes.
Hardly any clear-cut chances were created by either side but Liam Fox came closest to scoring, only to be stopped by the keeper before he could get the ball onto his favoured right foot. The second half started with Teesside bringing on some fresh legs and both teams carrying on as the first half ended, locked in a midfield battle. Liam Fox was sent clear only to be felled from behind resulting in a clear cut penalty award.
Lewis Upton stepped up and smashed the ball past the despairing dive of South Park's keeper. The second goal for Teesside soon came after good link up play between Upton and Fox who slotted home with much aplomb. Teesside were now playing some superb football and the third goal was a beauty with Upton lobbing into the far corner of the net after Fox had set him up. South Park grabbed a late consolation goal from a corner, when one of their players rose well to power home to make the final score a 3-1 Teesside win.
Teesside also won the friendly 3-0 with Dan Konstantis, Tony Campbell and Luke Berry scoring.

In a second game Barnard Castle took the lead and St Mary's equalised from a deflected Jordan Langhan cross. Anna Caldwell then scored the winner to end the game 2-1 to St Mary's.
The Under-14s played Thornaby Juniors in a very exciting game. Thornaby took the lead with Liam Hart equalising. Thornaby then went 3-1 up before Danny Bell and Tommy Delve equalised for St Mary's. With a draw looking likely Thornaby got a winner in injury time.
Ferryhill Town Youth
The Under-11s, sponsored by Peter Clark Estates, were at home to Guisborough at the weekend. In a closely fought match both teams played well in the heat. Ferryhill were very unlucky to end up losing 3-2. Goalscorers were Matthew Cowell and Aaron Jones, man of the match went to Joe Oliver.
Darlington Allstars
The Under-9s travelled to the Wiggington Tournament and got to the final without conceding a goal. The Allstars took on Cramlington in the final and although the squad gave their all, Cramlington proved stronger and came away 3-0 winners.
