Durham County won the FA County Youth Cup when they defeated North Riding County 4-0 in the final at the Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough on Saturday.
The seventh consecutive victory, which equalled their record number of wins, was a result of an excellent and professional performance from the team.
Durham made a dream start scoring after just 19 seconds.
Centre back Michael Coulthard intercepted an intended pass following the kick-off by the visitors and hit a perfect 40-yard pass which split the defence. Richard Broadie was free and he coolly slotted the ball past the advancing goalkeeper.
From the restart, North Riding attacked and it took a superb double save from Durham keeper Liam Connell to prevent an equaliser.
At the other end, the home side were close to a second goal as Steven Richardson hit the post with a 20-yard drive.
Early in the second period, North Riding pressed but the Durham defence was outstanding and weathered the storm. After 58 minutes, Durham went two goals up when Gavin Stoker set Broadie free and he drew the keeper before placing the ball in the net.
The second goal lifted Durham who played excellent flowing football. Richardson was brought down and took the penalty himself, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
Durham were now rampant and in stoppage time, Carl Jones sent Richardson away to grab his second goal and Durham's fourth.
It was a first-class performance by the team and captain Curtis Taylor lifted the cup which is the most prestigious at under-18 level in the country.
The win rounded off an excellent season for Durham as they also won the Association of Northern Counties Cup when they defeated Northumberland County FA 1-0 with an extra-time goal by Andrew Bulford.
