FOUR North-East hospices have been given a boost with a donation of more than £3,000.
St Teresa's Hospice, in Darlington, Butterwick Hospice, in Stockton, Teesside Hospice, in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool and District Hospice, are each to receive £925 raised by members of Darlington Building Society.
Members were told that 35p would be donated to the hospices for each proxy form they returned to the society before its annual meeting last month.
Jane Bradshaw, director of St Teresa's Hospice, said: "We are delighted to receive the donation from Darlington Building Society. They have helped us in many ways over a number of years. The money will go towards various running costs for all of our services including Hospice at Home, day care, in-patient care and all the other free support services we provide for patients and carers."
