A CONDUCTOR will celebrate 40 years at the top when he steps on stage next week.
Colin Short will mark four decades with the Sunderland Singers when he performs at Sunderland University's St Peter's riverside on Saturday.
The choir will make a special tribute to composer Richard Rogers, including music from The Sound of Music, South Pacific and Oklahoma. The concert features Australian tenor Balke Fischer and Icelandic soprano Hrasn-hildur Bjornsdottir.
The Sunderland Singers' annual concert features pop and classical music spanning four centuries.
The concert will be held at the Prospect Building, Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter's at 7pm.
Tickets are £8 (£6 concessions/£4 students) and are available at the door or on 0191- 548 7824.
