A GRUELLING Army endurance race has been won by a team from the Army Foundation College, Harrogate.
The soldiers and civilian staff were among 13 teams which took part in the annual Race the Sun competition.
They had to run, swim and canoe 182 miles across North Yorkshire from dawn until dusk.
The day, sponsored by Nestle, York, was split into a 15-stage relay involving a hill run up Sutton Bank, canoeing along the River Ouse, cycling uphill through Levisham and swimming across Castle Howard lake. Race the Sun has been run for the past 11 years and has raised more than £93,000 for charity.
