Banded racing hasn't been everyone's cup of tea but it has certainly provided some of the lower-rated animals with opportunities it is unlikely they would have had in ordinary handicap company.

And Stellite and Moonlight Song, first and third respectively in a fair banded event at Ayr recently, can both successfully negotiate the return to a stronger grade at Redcar this afternoon.

Stellite, a lightly-raced sort, looks an interesting runner in the hands of Kevin Darley and is preferred to likely favourite Goodbye Mr Bond in the Classic Suite Handicap over a mile.

Jim Goldie's four-year-old turned in an improved effort to beat Hebenus over seven furlongs at the Scottish track at the end of last month and that day shaped very much as though the step up to this trip would suit.

Although the ground is much more testing this time he seemed to handle bad ground at Newcastle over a mile and a quarter on his reappearance and he's one of the very few in this field open to any improvement.

Moonlight Song, a close third to Stellite that day, looks the one to be on in the toteexacta Fillies' Handicap over her optimum trip of seven furlongs.

Her stable has been on the mark in recent times and she's interesting here as she encounters testing conditions for only the second time since scooting home at Ayr nearly two years ago, when last successful.

There's not too many that can be fancied in this ordinary event and she's taken to beat Annijaz, who shaped well on her reappearance and, although all her turf wins have been on fast ground, she has no problems with a soft surface.

At Wolverhampton, The Beduth Navi looks an interesting runner returned to sand in the Sponsor A Race At Dunstall Park Handicap over a mile and seven furlongs.

David Bridgewater's four-year-old has been in good heart at up to staying distances on fibresand and, as he's only had four races on the surface, may well be capable of a bit better.

Frank's Quest will also be suited by the return to sand after a recent run on heavy at Pontefract and can get the better of some ordinary rivals in the Teletext Racing Hands And Heels Apprentice Handicap over the extended nine furlongs.

Keshya has yet to race on fibresand but, as a half-sister to triple Wolverhampton winner Polka Princess, is well worth a try on sand and is taken to win the Come Racing Again Tomorrow At Dunstall Park Fillies' Handicap over a mile. Denis Coakley's filly has shown improved form on turf on her last couple of starts and she's capable of going close.

Course and distance winner Daring Affair looks the one for the exacta. At Windsor Putra Pekan looks another likely winner for the in-form Michael Jarvis in the totesport.com Royal Windsor Listed Stakes over a mile. The six-year-old looked as good as ever when winning over this trip at Ascot.
