THIS year's outdoor concerts in Dalby Forest are on course to be the most successful ever, according to the Forestry Commission.
Ex-Jam frontman Paul Weller will appear in the forest, near Pickering, on June 19, followed by Bryan Ferry on June 20.
A concert by Jarvis Cocker's band Pulp in 2002 has been rated as one of the best 100 gigs of all time by Q Magazine. It beat events such as David Bowie's concert at Madison Square Gardens to claim 54th slot.
Organiser Paul Cody, of the Forestry Commission, said: "The poll reflects the magical atmosphere created at Dalby. Some pundits reckon last year's Status Quo gig was on a par with the Pulp gig.
"Tickets sales this year are excellent and Paul Weller will certainly be our first sell-out event. That will produce a spin off for local businesses throughout the area."
Tickets are still available for the Paul Weller and Bryan Ferry concerts and can be booked through the Forestry Commission by calling the hotline (01842) 814612.
