A TEENAGER is celebratafter receiving the highest marks in the UK in a clarinet exam.
Christopher Turner, 15, from Hornby, near Great Smeaton, North Yorkshire, has won two prizes for achieving 146 marks out of a possible 150 in his grade eight examination.
He has been awarded the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Philip F Walsh Memorial Prize for the highest grade eight clarinet mark in the UK.
He was also given their gold award for the highest grade eight mark across all instruments.
Christopher studies at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester, where his 13-year-old brother Andrew is also a pupil.
