THE first Cleveland Primary Schools' Art Festival has been described as a "marvellous display of strong colour and bold technique", by James Bustard, head of visual arts for the Arts Council North East, who opened it.
The exhibition is being held at Teesside Prep School, Eaglescliffe until Friday. Viewing times are 9am to 5pm daily.
Schools from all over Teesside have submitted entries to the festival.
Among the display items are full-size papier mache models of children using a climbing frame, and four large canvases depicting the route of the River Tees from its source to the docks by way of the Transporter Bridge.
The festival could become an annual event.
